This is Alex. A personable and particular, Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgeon.
Alex has been a consultant plastic surgeon for over seven years, combining an extensive medical and scientific background with a lifelong passion for creativity. Inspired early by his father, a rural GP who cared deeply for his community, and his mother, a social worker and genetic counsellor, Alex was drawn to plastic surgery because of its unique blend of science, artistry and problem-solving. For him, no procedure is ever the same, and the specialty offers endless opportunities to refine, improve and innovate.
He is deeply passionate about the impact his work can have on people’s quality of life, whether through reconstructive or aesthetic surgery. With expertise across breast and body surgery, breast reconstruction, skin cancer and melanoma surgery, hand surgery and body contouring after weight loss, Alex focuses on creating tailored solutions for each patient, taking the time to get to know his patients and understand their individual needs and goals.
Over the course of his career, Alex has led the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Bendigo Health, contributed to national task forces to improve rural and regional care, and completed a PhD investigating new treatments for scarring — work that earned him multiple RACS and NHMRC fellowships and scholarships. Today, he is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and an active member of leading national and international professional associations, ensuring his practice always reflects the latest global standards.
In addition to his surgical career, might be surprised to learn that Alex is also a founding member of the acclaimed Adelaide band Bad//Dreems, which has toured internationally and debuted in the ARIA Top 10.
