Breast Augmentation Surgery Costs
The cost of breast augmentation can vary depending on your individual goals, anatomy, implant selection, hospital and anaesthetist fees, and whether any additional support or fat grafting is required.
Breast augmentation performed for cosmetic purposes is not covered by Medicare or private health insurance, meaning patients are responsible for the full cost of surgery, including GST.

Cost for Standard Breast Augmentation
The total cost for breast augmentation is from $13, 500, including;
- surgical fee
- anaesthetic fee
- implants
- hospital day stay
- 12 month follow up with Dr Cameron and Clinical Nurse
Cost for Motiva Preservé breast augmentation
The total cost for breast augmentation is from $16,000 including;
- surgical fee
- anaesthetic fee
- Motiva Ergonomix – two implants, Preservé kit
- hospital stay
- 12 month follow up with Dr Cameron and Clinical Nurse
*All fees are approximate only and vary based on individual patient needs, including time in theatre, individual hospital and anaesthetist scheduled. Dr Cameron’s surgeon fee includes the surgical assistant fee where applicable. A formal quote quote is provided following consultation with Dr Cameron.
Medicare or Private Health Rebates
There is no Medicare rebate or private health insurance benefit available for breast augmentation performed for cosmetic purposes, this also means that GST will apply.
In circumstances of significant asymmetry or tuberous breast deformity Medicare will provide a rebate and private health insurance may cover hospital costs.
If Dr Cameron considers that your breast augmentation may meet the Medicare criteria, this will be discussed with you during your consultation, including any relevant item numbers and the potential rebates or private health insurance benefits available.
Possible Additional or Unforeseen Costs
All of Dr Cameron’s surgical quotes are based on the planned procedure.
In some cases, additional costs may arise if:
• Compression garments (required)
• Unforeseen surgical complexity requires a longer operative time or additional procedures
• Post-operative complications require further treatment, dressings, revision surgery or hospital admission
• Additional pathology, imaging or specialist review (if required)
• Wound care or post-operative support beyond the standard recovery period.
• ICU admission or an ICU specialist review is required
Please note that post-operative compression garments are a mandatory part of recovery for most surgical procedures. These are not covered by Medicare or private health insurance and are an additional out-of-pocket cost. Garment costs are listed separately in the cost overview above.
Where possible, Dr Cameron will discuss any anticipated complexity at your consultation. Our team will contact you promptly if any unexpected costs arise during your care.
Optional: Fat Grafting

If fat grafting is recommended, there will be an additional cost of $3,000 for liposuction, grafting and equipment costs.

This price guide is a general overview only and will vary depending on your individual circumstances and the hospital and specialists involved in your care. Once your surgical plan is finalised, we’ll provide a formal quote and confirm your booking. Anaesthetist and hospital fees are confirmed once your surgery date is set and any applicable Medicare or health fund coverage has been finalised — your care team will talk you through this before anything is finalised.
