Direct Access Colonoscopy allows eligible patients to proceed straight to a diagnostic colonoscopy without an initial specialist consultation, helping reduce wait times and speed up care.

Commonly used to investigate symptoms such as changes in bowel habits, rectal bleeding, unexplained anaemia or positive bowel screening results, this streamlined pathway supports earlier detection of conditions including polyps, inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer.
