About hernia surgery

Hernias can occur in the upper gastrointestinal tract or abdomen (such as Hiatus Hernia and Epigastric Hernia), as well as in the lower abdomen and groin area (such as Umbilical Hernias and Inguinal Hernias).

Hernia surgery is one of the most common surgical procedures performed in Australia.

Morphē hernia treatments

HIATUS HERNIA SURGERY

When part of the stomach pushes up into the chest through the diaphragm, it’s called a hiatus hernia. Surgery can relieve symptoms like reflux and discomfort.

EPIGASTRIC HERNIA SURGERY

Located between the ribs and navel, epigastric hernias can cause pain or a visible bulge. Surgical treatment restores core strength and comfort.

UMBILICAL HERNIA SURGERY

Common near the belly button, umbilical hernias happen when tissue pushes through weakened abdominal muscles. Surgery can relieve pressure and prevent further issues.

INGUINAL HERNIA SURGERY

An inguinal hernia occurs in the groin, where tissue pushes through the lower abdominal wall. Surgical repair restores strength and supports daily movement.
